I’d like to see multilight with corona render. I know, its an old debate, dont hit me …
i would love to see a working corona compositing tag! that would make so many things easier. i guess most of its use would be covered with a sort of shadowcatcher but the way vrayforc4d incorporated it also makes it possible to hide geometry from reflection, gi etc.
other than that i have some problems with instanced geometry. i haven’t fully worked out whats happening but it seems related to normal tags, instances of grouped hierarchies. in these caes sometimes geometry disappears when activating “render instances”. I’m not sure if proper render instances are supported yet so if they aren’t then that would also get a big fat +1 as i often work with very complex and geometry-heavy scenes.
next thing that would be nice to see is a corona VFB. Actually i was wondering about the “interactive colormapping” noted as a feature for the latest corona c4d release. i wasn’t able to find out how that works. can anyone point me in the right direction?
You can find it under your plugins menu under corona/colormapping (the light bulb icon) you can tweak exposure etc while you are rendering in the picture viewer and it will update it automatically. It doesn’t work if the render is finished though, you have to tweak it while it’s still rendering.

Of course DR is the most waited feature for commercial use
Yeah IR and DR for me. Also went for more shaders. Would love a mighty tiles type shader but I know its a big ask. We only have kendo shaders which is limited to regular sized ‘bricks’.
Oh and is it possible to get a closer crop on the preview ball in the editor? There is quite a bit of wasted space around it that could be filled by the ball.

I just found out that there is no way to make a render region, this is really important to me!
Another easy missing feature is the “invert” button under bitmap slots.
Render region works just fine, both viewport and render. You can do invert using filter, it’s two more clicks.
+1 for compositing tag, must have for me
Sorry for being so dumb but how do you setup the region in the render (not in the viewport)?
And where do you find the invert button under the filter?
I am using prime version of cinema 4d16.

IES lights will be also good
- First you have to open a irr(interective render region)
- Select the size you want
- open render settings/output
- tick render region, and select “copy from IRR”
and thats it.. next time you render to picture viewer.. it will only render the region you choose!
another way (the one I use)
just open IRR… select render region.. and use this script to directly render to picture viewer
script on attachments
install script under library/scripts .. it can be later inserted on layout using palettes customization !

I am so used to setup things in vray that i forget basic cinema functions, corona is much morte intergrated into cinema than any other render plugins!
