Looks probably like some back face issue, you could try and use a solidify/shell modifier on your curtains to give them some thickness… or maybe I’m completely wrong.
min rate and max rate … you have your as -3 … -3 … set it to -3 … -1 and see what happens. why have you got a reflection on the curtains ?that maybe causing a problem .. set it to black and glossy to 1 ..
well curtains with a very shiny type material would reflect, as does just about everything in this world. Maybe he’s just going for that hyper hyper realism…
I’d like to know where the plants come from (software/plugin or object library etc), and what was your rendering time on that picture along with your computer specifications if possible.
The flowers are free xfog plants (I can’t find the web page to save my life, but I’m sure it’s still up).
It renders pretty fast imo, 2 hours using IR+Light cache with lots of glossies.
comp: dual 3ghz xeon, 1gb ram
I’m working on that rendering right now. I’m putting in a really nice crystal chandelier made up of hundreds of little bead-like crystals. (looks great in the picture I have of it LOL wish me luck)
plus a mirror over the mantel with a very ornate gold frame, again looks great in the picture… sigh
