Hi again,
I´ve tested new Vray 6.2 with Rhino 7/8 and found another bug.
I have blurry wood textures (wardrobe and flooring) in viewport when I use Vray 6.2
I tested it with combination Vray 6.2 + Rhino 7 and Vray 6.2 + Rhino 8.1.
See screenshots
Hello, Pavol,
There is probably a Color Correction texture wrapped around a Bitmap. Procedural textures are sampled and displayed in the viewport with a size of 256x256 pixels.
The reason procedural textures use previews of lower size is for scene optimization.
Will discuss internally whether the size can be safely increased without affecting performance or model file size too much.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this matter!
Hello @Peter.Chaushev
I undertand your explanaiton, but one of that material texture (wardrobe) is not wrapped, just has Texture placement set to Mapping source, where only randomization.
Second one (floor) has no wrapping, just few color gain corrections in Color Manipulation section of bitmap texture.
I see that now if I change texture gain, it also dynamically change its preview in rhino viewport which is great update, but also blurry texture (it is hard for set proper uw mapping for me when it ist blurry).
Will it be possible to size up its resolution without affecting performance? ![]()
Thank you in advance.
Indeed, Bitmap textures using UVW Placement assets or UVW Randomizer were also sampled at lower resolution. This is fixed and will be changed with v6.20.01.
Additionally, an option will be introduced to control the resolution of viewport textures. This way you will be able to choose for yourself a balance between display quality and performance.
Great! Thank to all team
A hotfix which gives you control over the viewport texture preview was just released:

Great thank you.
