My bosses have been amazed with the new update for Enscape and have put me in charge of researching and developing our Enscape templates for all future projects.
A key issue we have all come across is not being able to change the materials of duct/pipework so that they appear different in 3D and Enscape.
What do you mean with different in 3D and Enscape? Are you aware that you can toggle between Enscape using the graphics and appearance parameters? Maybe that helps, its located in the advanced tab.
Yes linked MEP models and @Thomas_Willberger its more about changing it from being boring grey (in revit and enscape environment) to different colours all alone. The revit materials and object style library doesn’t allow that.;
You can’t! You have to go into the MEP model and physically change the materials. You can ‘transfer project standards’ and just pick materials and any that are replicated in the MEP model you can choose to override but it means re-saving a consultants model which isn’t really best practice.
We also have run into this problem. We wanted to change the color of Exposed Steel Beams from boring dark Gray to White, and some exposed mechanical air ducts to different colors for some School Projects and have not been able to change the color.
You could ‘Copy/Monitor’ the elements of the linked model and potentially do it that way (don’t quote me on this, we only tend to copy/monitor grid lines).
Ended up creating a detached version of the consultant models, changing the materials aligned to the systems(Never knew about this so thank you dmsith86) and then transferring the project standards.
The image below is just a quick one with the worst colours available to prove a point to a co-worker.
Now the next question is does anyone know of a “industry standard” material mapping for materials?
Obvious one for fire related systems being red, electrical earth cabling being grey and vent ducts for residential being white, but what about the rest?
