Pretty simple, but it’s coming along. The denoiser is a dream come true.
The architect doesn’t want furniture, yet.
Any LUTs on top of the render Bobby? Not too keen on the architecture but the render itself is comming out really nice!
No, no LUT’s, but some quick PS color grading. I haven’t gotten too much into LUTs. To me, it seems too much like Instagram filters. I’ll have to try it when we get some good ones inside the VFB, but for now, I don’t use it.
The ridiculous part is, these are 1/4 million dollar condominiums.
Do you use Arion FX to add the bloom/glow/flares?
I really wish we would have that build in Vray as once you want to pipe out a animation, you’re f**** using Arion FX
I use ArionFX, but not for the glow. I use Google’s plug-in, the glamour glow, but only slightly. This one, I think I set the opacity to 20%
Good to know ![]()
Still trying to find a viable solution for animations (till I hope Vray implement a proper bloom/glare effect :))
I am having a heck of a time utilizing this space. The Architect gave me sketches, so there isn’t a labeled floorplan. It is an awkward space, to say the least.
How are you getting the glow only at the lights? Glamour Glow doesn’t seem to function that way.
I do the classic soft glow and just paint it around the lights with a soft brush.
Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense.
One more reason why we really should have a proper lens effect build in Vray…
Proper lens effects are not around lights only; they affect the entire image… What you want is artistic lens effects ![]()
Best regards,

I have never gotten anything good out of ArionFX, as far as glare/bloom goes. I am working on one now and I am using V-Ray glare/bloom, which has always worked well for me. I think maybe, it has too many controls. It almost seems like it should work with just an on/off toggle. I am not sure a digital camera has any controls for glare/bloom, it is just a natural lens flaw.
If it has 1 bedroom then it would likely be between $600,000 to 1.2 mill in SF. Depending on the additional amenities in the building. Sigh.
Ridiculous! I guess it is all relative.
Not really, what I’d really love is having a set of lenses preset that will act as if it was shot from that lens, CC/bloom/glare/distortion etc.
Kind of the same as VrayScan but applied to lenses. If you don’t like it, then you have to chose another one or live with it, the same as you would it real life.
Vray Scans showed how incredible and awesome mtl can be replicated, and I don’t know anyone that can say that they can reproduce by hand a specific mtl better than what a scan does.
And it’s even better that it actually works on the whole image in stead of just a glow applied around lights, it will only look better/more realistic.
As a artist, it’s great to have control but at the same time, it also deserve us a lot as it give us the ability to also go on path that should not be used.
If we are looking for photorealist results, I would like to have some presets that says, “that’s what it is” or that’s “what’s it should be”. In stead, we often try and error and push and pull things around to try to eye ball things to match.

If that was possible to have those presents either build by someone who took care to try to mimic as close as possible a set of lenses or by CG to scan those lenses, I would be really over the moon.
If we want to push things even further, it would be great to be able to save that as a render element (or multiples with different lens applied to be able to choose or blend them in post if we’d like) and it’s fine if it’s the beauty+lens effect applied in the render element.
I know I’m completely dreaming, but it so good to dream before a WE ![]()
make sense?

Put some plane lights inside the doors that you can’t see anything but the edge of. That will add a whole other dimension to the image. IE on the right and behind the fridge.
I did some work on this, for myself, and I’ll post them later today.
For it to work properly you have to render full linear 32bit float. No reinhard or anything like that.
