Corona 15 issues (node editor + render resolution override)

Hi everyone,

After installing this last corona, I’ve a small bug happening on my node editor.

My physical node is showing some outputs that are duplicated and have no use. Maybe is something on my side, but I can’t find a way to fix it.

other thing that I was trying to use, and didn’t work as expected.

when using the corona camera render resolution override, the view from viewport is different from one rendered.

any idea what could be the problem? I was really hyped with this feature… (no more multiple render settings for multiple cameras).

i’m using c4d 2024, with last corona 15. windows 11

thanks in advance.

Hi,

I can confirm the issue with extra outputs in Physical material - it will be fixed in the next preview build and also in hotfix for v15.

Regarding the different render and view from viewport, I was not able to reproduce any issue, for me the render in viewport looks the same as viewport preview, and render to picture viewer is same except for usual safe frame.

To eliminate other explanations, do things work in your scene when you change the resolution manually in render settings instead of via camera override? If so, do you think you could send us a simplified scene where you can reproduce the issue? You can remove materials and replace objects with some simple plane / cube if you don’t want to send a whole scene as the issue as the only relevant parts of the scene should really be just render settings and cameras.

thanks for the reply,

Regarding the camera, this happens to me even in a simple scene.

Notice how different it looks from the viewport. It should be much more cropped.

I found out what the problem is. When I create a new render setting and set my resolution according to the one I was using with the “render resolution override,” the viewport matches the final render output. This means that whatever resolution I set in the override to display in the viewport won’t match the actual rendered output.

To get a true output preview in my viewport, I need to have the same resolution set on both my camera tag and the render settings.

This makes the “resolution override” feature pretty much useless, as I still have to create different render settings for each camera anyways.

just like I did before.

Point me if I’m doing something wrong.. but I can’t find any other workaround for this.

Reproduced and logged as (CC4D-1381). This will be investigated.
