Enscape Custom Asset Editor - Error when importing into Revit

While testing the new Enscape Custom Asset Editor in 2.9 to import files, I receive the following error message: Model Import Error - An error occurred while trying to import the model file. Error message: The given key was not present in the dictionary.

  • This error is happening with OBJ and FBX files pulled from several different sites that provide the files.
  • I have tried placing all assets (3D files and textures) into one folder, separate folders… Same error appears.
  • I have tried to batch import… Same error appears.
  • This is in Enscape 2.9 and Revit 2021.1.1

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Your imports contain references to textures that our importer cannot find (either they’re not there or the path is wrong), this is a bug unfortunately that we’re fixing at the moment. You can circumvent this by removing the “textures” from the .mtl file i.e.: stripping the material of the textures or trying to adjust the path in the .mtl file.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

We just now released a fix for this, please download and install 2.9 again.

I recently downloaded the latest version of enscape that the page has and it keeps giving me that error, what can I do ???

Olá, eu estou tendo o mesmo problema que ele, eu baixei ele novamente e ele não resolveu!

I have another error when i try to import the geometry:

(Translation)

model import error

An error occurred while trying to import the model file. Error message: Cannot convert source file.

I have reinstalled again the last Enscape version as is said in this post. But the same error appears.

Thanks!

Same error here.

I’m sorry to hear about that - have you made sure to also acquire the latest release once more from the download page, instead of running the existing 2.9 installer? Since that existing 2.9 would then not include the hotfix. Let me know if that doesn’t help, in that regard it would also be very helpful to receive some feedback reports. Thanks!

Thanks for your answer.

I have installed the last preview version: “3.0.0-preview.2+33803”

The same problem still persists. I have tried different models 3d, .obj and .fbx files. Everytime I have tried to do it i always get the same error.

I had a similar error so downloaded and installed v 2.8. Everything worked. Upgraded to 2.9 and problem disappeared. Don’t know why - but it worked!
