While testing the new Enscape Custom Asset Editor in 2.9 to import files, I receive the following error message: Model Import Error - An error occurred while trying to import the model file. Error message: The given key was not present in the dictionary.
This error is happening with OBJ and FBX files pulled from several different sites that provide the files.
I have tried placing all assets (3D files and textures) into one folder, separate folders… Same error appears.
Your imports contain references to textures that our importer cannot find (either they’re not there or the path is wrong), this is a bug unfortunately that we’re fixing at the moment. You can circumvent this by removing the “textures” from the .mtl file i.e.: stripping the material of the textures or trying to adjust the path in the .mtl file.
I’m sorry to hear about that - have you made sure to also acquire the latest release once more from the download page, instead of running the existing 2.9 installer? Since that existing 2.9 would then not include the hotfix. Let me know if that doesn’t help, in that regard it would also be very helpful to receive some feedback reports. Thanks!
