French keyboard - english layout

Hi,

i have a kollegue he use Revit on a french PC open Enscape and see the Button-instruction.

but when he pressed “M” he cant see the Map. he need to press “?” that is the Button on same place as “M” for German or English-Keyboard.

Is there a possible sollution to be shure, that the user find the right buttons?

Thanks

Hello @heinrich.boldt ,

we are aware of the issue. Many developers here have German (QWERTZ) keyboards, although not as bad as French (AZERTY), there are still some mismatches.

Print out a the layout of a US keyboard, and give it to them? Being French, they won’t like it, but as the saying goes “il faut faire avec”.

Thank you, not that answer i want to get, but a solution.

I thought, that it is possible to read-out the used keyboard of the system and create different “Settings” for these.

@heinrich.boldt Currently Enscape has no localisation or internationalization at all. It is quite high on our priority list. Enscape gets better in leaps and bounds, so stay tuned.

old issue digging, I did not use enscape for quite a bit and did not have that issue before. Now a few month later in the newest version, the M mapping is incorrect.

is there a way to get a solution for the localized shortcuts?

Welcome to our Forum @jean-marc_couffin !

In this case, you should still be able to open our Mini-Map by just pressing “,” instead of “m” itself. If this is a problem in the end though and too confusing in the long run let me know - I’ll also bring this subject up once more to our developers, thanks a lot for your feedback.

once you know it, it is ok I guess.

only trouble is that I will be demonstrating enscape to a noob audience. And it is a bit bothering for new customers.

Danke @Demian_Gutberlet

I understand that completely - I’ll discuss this once more internally with our Developers, thank you!
