I think since the latest vray 3.2 update, there is no option anymore to link the color threshold in the adaptive image sampler options to the noise threshold in the global DMC sampler. Could someone explain what the reason behind this is? I liked it to quickly switch from fast previews to high quality renders by only altering 1 setting (noise threshold in global DMC).
I gather its because locking them is actually producing longer render time then unlocking. I think you need to set the noise thresh to 0.005 and leave it at that and just adjust your aa thresh.
It turned out that changing the DMC noise threshold is actually rarely needed; for the vast majority of scenes it can be set to something like 0.005 and left like that for all eternity.
Ok I see, for final rendering quality this is indeed the case. So you just leave the dmc noise threshold at 0.005 and alter the color threshold for quick test renders? A dmc noise threshold of 0.005 vs for example 0.2 will still result in higher IR map calculation times though, right?
