Hair and Fur - not rendering with mr prim

I’m just doing some simple preliminary grass tests with the Hair and Fur mod in Max 2010 and Vray sp3a.

I have tried using MR Prim and no hair shows up. If I turn on Buffer or Geometry I see the hair.

What am I missing?

Also, what is the difference between MR Prim and Geometry modes? (assuming I can get MR Prim working)

Does it work on a simple scene?

The difference is that the fur is rendered similar to VRayFur - as dynamic geometry, which saves quite a lot of memory.

Yeah, it was a real simple scene… but nevermind -- because this morning it works. I"m starting to think something is a little wacky with Max. I had a similar issue a few weeks ago where RT wasn’t updating when I changed materials. And the next day it was working fine.

For some reason I’m getting these little failures at sporadic times. I do know someone else said they say this issue in RT -- so I’m not entirely alone.

Anyway, I really like that you added this memory saving option, Vlado.
