How to blow steam into fluid

Hi!

I’m trying to blow hot steam into a fluid (like a geyser) and make the fluid splash up in the air.
Which seams easy at first (two sources, one creating the fluid and the other one starting some frames after the first source creating steam) isn’t that easy.
The problem is the very different shading. The fluid has to be in solid mode and the steam in regular mode.

Could somebody tell me how to make this or if it isn’t possible at all? (PhoenixFD 1.x)

Thank you,
Fabian

Any pictures ?

The “splash” in the middle comes from a smoke creating source. Both (fluid and steam) use the same simulator…

Sorry  I don’t get it

just create a second simulator, redirect its input to the cache files of the first one and make the render setup for the steam

Thank you! I will try that.

Works great! Thanks for the solution. I was confused by the fluid but it seems right now that a big fluid stream shoots up in the air, because the fluid is “filled” with steam.
