IPR Won't start at all - Vray 3.60.05 - Max 2019 (updated) - win 10 pro

Good morning,

Seems that there’s a serious problem with iPR.

When i work normally with render (bucket and progressive) all works fine.
But, If i try to hit IPR render it didn’t work at all, and i obtain the error as attached below.

This happens after i completely restarted max and reloaded my scene as well.

After that error i have to close max using task manager.
Reloading the scene , and re-using the normal “render” button all works as expected.

IPR is just unusable here.

Thanks in advance.
Marco

An update.

1) Distributed REndering is completely DISABLED, so i don’t know why appears on vray log.

2) That message appears if i hit “ipr”, and after that i try to hit “render last” button or “render” button

3) After that red error max freezes and is impossible to continue.

Hello,

Would it be possible to send us the scene to support@chaosgroup.com for investigation. Please mention this thread.

Best Regards,

I can, but it happens with a fresh scene as well , with just a cube and a plane, without any lights.

Hello!
Nobody has the same issue?

Now 2019 is updated to 3rd pack, but nothing seems to change. I can’t use IPR at all with any kind of scene.
Same issue and same “red” message from v-ray log as the “old” 2019.2

Anyone?
Thanks
M.

never had this, in any max version/update, unfortunately.

Hello,

Can you upload the whole vraylog file - it’s named vraylog.txt and by default is in your temp folder (%temp% in the address bar of windows explorer).

Best regards,
Yavor

Thank you
Sure i can. Here it is.

I probably something connected with my pc or installation, but please let me know if you find something. I prefer not to re-install everything.

too big. here it is
vraylog.zip (214 KB)

I still have max 2017 with vray 3.60.05 installed on my workstation, and there ipr works perfectly.

Thanks for the log. From it seems like you somehow manage to start IPR render twice.
In the log there is this message:
[2019/Jan/8|10:51:42] Setting up V-Ray parameters for frame rendering.
At that time V-Ray starts preparing the scene getting various data etc..
then the next message is this:
[2019/Jan/8|10:51:49] Distributed rendering is not supported in production IPR mode.

It is 7 seconds later and is the caused by the second start of IPR. (Don’t mind the message itself - it is always printed for IPR no matter your DR settings).

2) That message appears if i hit “ipr”, and after that i try to hit “render last” button or “render” button

Why are you pressing render last after IPR ? Could you try just pressing IPR and then to wait a while ?

IPR didn’t start at all , and after that i simply tried to see what happens if i press “render last” and that was the result.

I can’t start IPR in any file, nor starting max from scratch.

I pressed after 7 seconds just to let you see the error.

For example now i tried again:
1) Start max from scratch
2) Create a box and a vraylight-dome
3) hit render → OK!
4) Hit Start interactive render → nothing happens (i can’t see any message at all on vraylog)
5) wait 1 minute
6) hit “last render” … i see the red error and max freezes at all… i can only force it to close.

If i start max 2017 and try same way all works normally , ipr .. production render and so on, in any way i try.
So it’s something connected to ipr and max2019 … at least in my configuration.

update: Nothing happened after i pressed “ipr” button and waited about 2 minutes

STOP button is “grey”… and doesn’t change anymore …

This is the last vraylog

Interesting
By the way - where is your vraylog file located? Seems like it is located in C: - can you try to move it to some other folder and see if there are any changes?

If that doesn’t help - it would probably be best to write an email to our support - they can arrange a remote session (if that is convenient) and check your installation.

Interesting?

I’ve tried to relocate to D… but nothing changed.
I will send an email. Thank you for support

.. a little upgrade.

Tested that IPR Starts and works on viewport. I can start and stop normally, but not on Vrayframebuffer. When i try to use it in vrayframebuffer max hangs and i have to manually close as i reported.
This has sense for you? Did a miss anything?

Hi,

If you still have problems with the IPR renderings, please try to reset 3DS Max by renaming the ENU folder. It is located here : C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2019 - 64bit
