When using VRay 7 on Mac os in Houdini 20.5.512 i get a weird performace with camrw projection, woks fine on CPU
Dear @luke_moore , hello.
Could you please share About This Mac > Chip + macOS version, please?
For GPU we are using Metal engine for MacOS, but defining the chip is important.
Additionally sharing a project to test with will be beneficial, and defining “weird performance” too (by screenshots, videos, etc.)
Best will be to use our contact form and upload there a file by first archiving it via V-Ray > Pack Scene.
Best.

Hi thanks for your reply,
Unfortunately I cannot VRay - Pack scene as I get error (see attached image)
so instead I have uploaded a we transfer link to the request form you supplied along with some screenshots and videos of the scene, except the caches,
But scene should work ok but main issues are;
camera projection and shadow matte combined to not work when used in conjunction with background plate LOP node (See SceneV001.hip)
camera projection does not work on GPU (See attached video) I have narrowed the problem down to be a scaling issue in the background LOP itself but only happens when GPU is selected.
camera projection and matte shadow does not work with background plate LOP node on CPU (See SceneV001.hip)
cannot toggle on OCIO setting in VRay Texture image node inside of Material Library (See SceneV001.hip)
Hope you can help.
Regards.
Hi Luke,
Pack Scene issue HOU-5058 is solved in our latest nightly builds, which could be found here.
V-Ray GPU support of Background LOP is logged with VGPU-7011 number and awaits developer’s attention.
I explained you about the OCIO setting in the ticket already - you have deleted RGB primaries value in Image File Node which results in inability to use OCIO tab:
About projection, it is visible that the input type does not match the output one.
Will keep you posted for any further news.
Happy Holidays!
Best,
TS
