Hello,

I read the documentation about licensing, but I need some more information.

We currently have a floating license server, using a single dongle, that serves several VRay licenses.
Our current vrlservice_adv is the one that was provided with VRay for maya 1.5SP1.
We are about to purchase VRay2.0.

1) To get the new rtu file (containing VRay2.0 licenses), I will first need to generate a context.wbc file.
May I create that wbc file while the installed license server is still v1.5 ?

2) If not, I will have to uninstall v1.5, and install the license server provided with VRay2.0
In that case, will our VRay1.5 licenses still work (before the new rtu) ?
Because I don’t want to have production stopped while I wait to receive an rtu in response to my wbc.

Hello,

Yes, you can create the context.wbc file with V-Ray 1.5 license server installed. Note that V-Ray 2.0 license server version can serve both 1.5 and 2.0 licenses, so you will need to install the 2.0 license server before start using V-Ray 2.0.
