Light Bleeding

I wonder if anyone could help me with 2 maybe 3 issues.

1. As seen on the attached image there is some light bleeding through the bottom and at the back screen. the modeling I have checked and there are no problems with holes or faces not meeting. Any suggestions.

2. The second question is not a problem, but I don’t know how to get a softer edge for the direct sunlight. I have a Direct light with Inverse Decay, environment light at intensity of 2. I cannot raise this too much as in other scenes look at modeling in and outside. ( don’t want outside modeling too washed out)

3. A general query-- I am not happy with the internal scene solution, I think my renders look weak. Any suggestions? - I have included additional images to hopefully get suggestions??

THanks for your help in advance

1: turn down the blur GI setting in your irradiance map.

2. Turn on area shadow in the vray shadow dialog for the sunlight and play with the size controls - bigger radius values mean softer shadows but more grainy shadows so you need to turn up the subdivs to get a clean result.

3. Ask zuliban

1. Tick ‘Check Sample Visibility’ in Irrad Map Advanced Options.
2. Area Shadows as joconnell suggests
3. Try Linear workflow

I will say that try applying shell material on your walls and whatever else is bleeding, often you need this for correct result.

It’s a very simple solution, SGEE: set your “Blur GI” parameter to 0.0 in the irradiance map parameters. The animation presets set this to more than zero, leading to these leaks.

Is the BlurGI parameter useful in any situation? Everytime i read about it in the forums is because you have to turn it off…I dont see it being used in animations either, those bright corners kill the render…

Well, by animation, it was originally meant character animation or other animations with moving objects and not walk-throughs. In these cases, the Blur GI parameter can be very helpful to reduce flickering.

thank you for all the help. I will apply the changes and keep you updated on the progress of the project.
