In case you’re new to this thread. I have developed a modified version of the built-in 3DStudio Light Lister to provide support for VRay Lights and VRay Suns. I will post updated versions here as features are added.
-- version 1.2
-- August 25, 2006
-- Added support for Units Type for VRay Lights
-- version 1.1
-- August 24, 2006
-- Added checkboxes for Affect Diffuse and Affect Specular for VRay Lights
-- Removed checkbox for Smooth Shadows for VRay Lights since that feature has been dropped
-- Version 1.0
-- August 23, 2006
-- Initial support added for VRay Lights and VRay Sun now that Vray 1.5 is out
Inspired by Marc Lorenz’ nice work to add support for VRay lights in the 3D Studio Light Lister:
Great . I was just wondering if there was an update. One other thing is the standard Vray light needs some minor tweaks if you get the time:
-Add a drop down for the “Units”
-Add “Affect Diffuse”
-Add “Affect Specular”
-Remove the “Smooth surface shadows” (I don’t think it’s in there anymore)
The units thing I’ll have to spend some more time on. Vlado has something special going on when you change the units type in the VRay Light. It doesn’t just change a single internally stored value. It does a couple different operations and changes more than one value (including some calculation on the multiplier value). I’ll look more into it, but I’m not guaranteeing anything.
Very much appreciated. I thought the Units setting would be tough because of some behind the scenes calcs that are going on. Really cool update though. Nice work.
Thanks for all of your hard work updating this again. Scripts like this and many others need to be put on chaossquid as soon as it’s up and running so you guys can start to get some “credit” for everyone downloading these things. You deserve to benefit from them other than just a simple thanks.
