As far as reflection/refraction by object, it seems like you can acomplish this with the VrayOverrideMtl. Also, the Vray Dirt texture does have an include/excude dialoge.
Therefore I am obliged to exclude the eye from the refraction if I don’t want to see the iris through the eyelid when he closes his eyes.
Too bad : when he puts his glasses I can not see eye with this technique, and I have to retouch my rendered frame by frame to remove the iris
If I was able to exclude an object from the refraction in my Vray material,I would have excluded the eye from the refraction in the eyelid’s material but not in the glasses material.
I could also desperately use an “exclude from object’s reflection” feature.
I’m working on product renders, and my reflection cards are showing up in the floor. The reflection cards are critical for interesting reflections on the model, but I can’t afford to have big white boxes messing with the clean reflections of the product in the floor.
For reflection cards, I use mapped vray lights nowadays. In plane or geometry mode with
only show in reflections ticked.
That way you can exclude objects you dont want to get reflections.
The option to exclude certain objects from both reflection and/or refraction at the material level would be amazingly helpful. For even further control, the option to include only certain lights would also be an incredible feature.
A project I made in 2 weeks with Vray.
I still the same problem: No button to exclude of reflection an object in the Vray material. Here I could not exclude invisible plates of reflection of the floor and keep them in the reflection of engine parts. Damn!
I don’t count any more the number of projects for which this function missed us.
For our last movie, for every character, we have had to make mask so that the pupil of the eye appear in refraction through the cornea but not through the refraction of the skin.
Father Vlado Chrismas never passes here?
Let us see if he reacts in this topic with this example of bug :-p
In Vray properties (1.5) > Generate GI if you change the value and what your decimal is “,” instead of being “.” the value is not taken into account.
