Phoenix FD + Anima

I don’t know if this is the correct forum to ask this, but. It’s possible to make anima characters interact with phoenix FD particles? I’m trying to setup a scene with a character swimming, but phoenix doesn’t recognize anima mesh.

Hi,

Yes, the Anima4D is not a regular mesh and it is not considered at all for the Phoenix simulation/interaction list.
However, there is one workaround depending on the results you want to achieve at the end.

*) The first one is to make a simple geometry (in case that you need interactions with part of the volume) and animate it to use similar movement. Then use this dummy object for the simulation.

*) But if you need the hole model or need a precise interaction between the Anima character and the fluid, then try the following:
- Export the Anima4d human to V-Ray Proxy Animation > V-ray menu .vrmesh export and use animation frames
- use Show whole mesh in the V-Ray Proxy settings
- select and export the resulting proxy mesh to Alembic : File > Export selected > alembic animation
- Load the resulting alembic using File > Import > Import..
- Set motion velocity to a lower value > right click on the alembic animation > Phoenix properties
This model should work with simulations.

I’ll try this. Thanks!!

I can’t access your driver links because of share permission, did you allow the access?

Probably too late, but here are the files again.
