Hi everyone,
stupid me accidentally deteled the folder with my downloaded assets from chaos cosmos.
In the Browser I can still see the blue check when I click on downloaded.
Is there a way to re-download (all) the downloaded files?
Or at least a way to find out which materials I have to download again, when for example 7ccb6e18e4ff.jpg is missing?
thank you & best regards,
Tobias
Hey Tobias,
Most of the Cosmos integrations implement auto-download of Cosmos assets that are referenced in the current scene. That being said, you should be able to recover your assets simply by opening your recent scenes.
Before that, to make the Cosmos Browser “aware” that the assets were deleted, simply restart it:
- Windows: search for “Cosmos” in the Start Menu and choose “Stop Cosmos Browser”, then search again and choose “Start Cosmos Browser” shortcut
- Mac: in Activity Monitor, search for “cbservice” and force-kill the process
Let us know if you need further assistance.
Hey Hristo,
auto-download didn’t work, but i found out that all the numeric files like “7ccb6e18e4ff.jpg”…
are from the old material browser and I found them an my HD.
The other missing files I can re-download manually.
Thanks,
Tobias
I had a similar issue once where the files showed as downloaded but some assets were actually incomplete. Clearing the download cache and forcing a fresh sync fixed it for me. Also worth checking if the asset paths changed between versions because older local caches can sometimes confuse Chaos tools.
Thank you for your input.
I will try, but it’s not too bad manually downloading the files.
