anyone any idea what this is? the glass is single faces, with reflect on back side turned on… my bounce depth is set to 2, its a pre-saved irradiance map, with qmc lighting for the people (works great!)
however, i have about three days to finish this and these red dots have just turned up..
well im using vray 1.46.15, and of the several hundred materials in the scene, ive checked the glass and looked for double faces, but the thing is i didnt get this problem before using the qmc lighting technique for the people… ( i dont think : :? trying to get this and 6 other scenes ready to render at the same time… head is baking a bit.. been on this same job for ..eek. .5 months. got one week left…
hmm, well its not bounce depth, antialiasing or qmc subdivs.. i also get a “material overbright” error, but then i could well have got that anyway, its quite a common one…
thanks for the offer mate. if i cant fix it by the end of the day ill see if i can strip out a bit of the scene to send over… trouble is at the moment its 150 mb plus 2 gb textures, so a fair amount of work to strip, whilst trying to keep the problem…
anyway, thx a lot for your help, im actually considering trying to just color correct them out in combustion, since the camera is moving quite fast and that door isnt in view too much… obviously id rather i could fix it tho…
well funny thing over here … just had the same problem spoke to vlado and it turns out to be a UVW Mapping problem… a small object wasnt mapped causing the red spots …so you may want to run through your scene..
The same ONE red dot over glossy material (two objects reflecting each other). Very fine detail settings. The first time I see that dot.
BTW None of them are mapped (just plain vehicle rim with brake support - there’s nothing to map at all) nor are cad imported (poly modelled). Irrmap were used in conjunction with lightmap(cache) plain adaptive AA
Dots can sometimes happen with the Ward BRDF for the VRay material; this has been corrected already, but in the meantime you can try and use Blinn or Phong.
well its definitely an issue with the new build, since when net rendering it was only happening on a couple of machines, turns out those ones had .15 on and the others had .14
so ive now moved all renderboxes back to .14 and no more dots.
as i mentioned earlier, this scene is hooj, so im kinda glad i didnt have to go hunting for uvw maps!
