Secluded Moroccan Farmhouse - Criterion Workshop

Hello All!

@Kylie_Garubba and I had the privilege of designing a home for a couple in North Carolina, USA. They had unique requests that allowed us to blend our farmhouse vision with a Moroccan Riad courtyard to create a series of interesting pockets of space. Creating an open-courtyard in the center of the floor plan provided the interiors with ample natural lighting.

Enjoy!

Nice job ! How did you make grass please ?

Truly gorgeous Steven - Always exciting to see more renderings from you!

Thank you, I’m using Skatter plugin in Sketchup to generate grass.

That’s a bit of an unusual combination with that courtyard sitting embedded inside the farmhouse style building. Really like your take on it though, the modelling, lighting and choice of materials is superb as always. Great work!

Congratulations Steven! The fifth rendering from the top won last week’s PotW contest. Well deserved and well done!

Oh that’s great to hear! Excited to see pop up in my news feed!

This is awesome. Well, I’m finding that is there any solution in Revit to create grass like this?

Great work. I lover the design and especially like the grass texture that you used. Can you tell me where you got it?

Thanks

Impressive project & renderings. I have two questions:

1- Is the exterior vertical siding a material w/ bump map or 3d modeled?

2- The standing seam metal roof looks to me like a material texture, not 3d modeled, correct?

Thank you!

Vertical siding is a material with normal mapping

The metal roof is mostly using normal map. I only modeled the standing seam for the middle dormer above the porch entry for some reason

The rest of the interiors…
