Lots of fixes. Anyone tried it yet? I think I’ll hold off for a week or so…

I installed it, and like usual, it took a long time. The communication error stopped popping up at launch, but other than that, I wasn’t having any other issues prior to the update.

I’m really enjoying max 2014. This update seems fine for me also. I don’t think I’ve had one crash on this version of max since I started using it.

There are a heapload of small UI/navigation/viewport issues with vanilla 2014. Not sure how you’ve managed to avoid them, Bobby…! For me on many occasions I’m forced to click the viewport before I can use a keyboard shortcut. That’s a major irritation. Hope they’ve fixed that one.

Now, I have been having keyboard shortcut issue, but I wasn’t blaming that on MAX. if that annoyance is gone, I would be happy.[quote=“alexyork, username:alexyork”]

i am on it
pretty good!!!

couple of glitches and bugs are there…viewport/UI

better that 2013…everything is better than that

I have installed the SP, and nothing works anymore! The Autodesk forum says that 3DS MAX 2014 doesn’t work on XP, because XP doesn’t support Direct X 11. MAX 2014 worked fine, prior to the SP, so I am baffled. Now, the SP works fine on my Win7, but then I sent a render to DR, the slaves (all XP machines) didn’t render, so I applied the SP, and that’s when things got broke.

Yes it’s because XP isnt supported in the 1st place. They should have made that part clearer because LOTS of people are still on XP

I think Revit 2014 is the same if I’m not mistaken, doesnt even install on XP

How about setting all your XP slaves to start up in OpenGL mode?
Maybe that’s a workaround?

I don’t have XP so can’t test it…

I am already uninstalling the SP, but I am sure others will come across the same thing and stumble across this thread, and try it. [quote=“Morne, username:Morne”]

@glorybound
have you find a way to use 3dsmax with WinXP?
I have installed 3dsmax 2014 on my slaves that have win server 2003 and they didn’t start…

may anyone explain to me whats the reason to use winXP???

I’ll turn this question to my IT department…

I hope they can upgrade those slaves with a newer OS version.

one day, it was the latest. I use 5 machines solely for vray dr slaves[quote=“vlado, post:4, topic:41550, username:vlado”]

I decided to move forward with 2014 and just updated my 2 slaves from XP to Windows 8…ughhh. Feel like a grumpy old man dealing with its new interface!

luckily we made move to win7 when we still had 3 comps…now that we have 8 machines, its would be quite costly, but still its worth it to cross over to win 7 in my opinion.

Well, they fixed it

my IT will hate me!

they’ve just started to upgrade my render nodes and now the fix!..
I will never say them!

I waited, knowing that Autodesk would catch hell and fix it[quote=“Morbid Angel, post:15, topic:41452, username:Morbid_Angel”]
