some recent work

hello,

i’m making some posters for some recent projects that have wrapped up and thought i’d share them.

i was wondering if you guys could share some techniques for creating hdri-like reflections without using hrdi files. i mainly do technical animations and i love how hdri lights a scene and gives it reflections but its not always the best choice for what i need. i’ve tried things like mapping an image to a dome to get some global reflections that give me spotty results. i guess what i’m looking for is hdri style reflections while having great control over the light soure…whether its a vray light or directional light.
thanks

Do a search in this forum for “HDRI and quality” and some answers will pop out of the threads like:

Where CN states that the HDR must be of a very high quality. I think he also made a DVD covering HDRI.
