Stuttering / Tracking issues in VR standalone executable (3.1)

When upgrading from 2.9 → 3.1 we’ve noticed that the standalone executables have issues in VR. Mainly the tracking seems off and the view is very jittery. Note the same issues do not happen with the models exported by 2.9. This is using a Oculus Rift on a pretty beefy machine (i9, 3080). Not sure what we might try, but its unusable for customers it will for sure cause motion sickness!

I’m sorry to hear about that - In the very first instance, please make sure to disable “Hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing” via the General SettingsRendering tab before exporting, as ray tracing is rather demanding performance-wise, especially in VR since the image has to be rendered twice, once for each eye. Alongside you can keep NVIDIA DLSS on, although this can lead to some blurriness when viewing the project in VR so you can disable that as well if you like.

Furthermore, you can also try lowering the Rendering Quality of course through the built-in Standalone settings, but that may not be required after turning off RTX (In case it was still enabled that is of course).

If those steps do not do the trick, make sure that your GPU drivers are generally up to date and please also send us a Feedback report as detailed here so that we can have a closer look at your machine-specs overall and log files which may provide us with further hints as to why you experience this problem.

Also, do you experience this issue when using Enscape non-standalone as well?

I can confirm that turning off RTX and then exporting does fix this issue. I wasn’t thinking that settings in the main app would change anything about the standalone output.
