How do I go around getting Nightlies Vray Maya 3.0? Do I buy it/ask for it/etc etc?
More eyecandy.
Here is a scene ive appropriated from the WinOsi test suite. Big thanks to my friend Rhys for cooking up a script on a moments notice to read in the .vmd file format.
Dispersion is currently borked with BDPT so we just have mono caustics.
Kevin Beason had a really nice version of the scene from his renderer that I used as visual reference.
Here is a 2012 scene file if anyone wants to play… Vlado Id love to see what 3.0 can do with this baby.

So besides not seeing the dispersion on the glass when using BDPT im wondering about the relative reflection strength on all the reflective materials. Im sure its user error but it seem like the reflections are quite dim even though the reflectivity is quite hi even with the fresnel. And as the lights are well in the range of overbright, the reflections on the spheres dont burn through to white… odd. Id expect overbright reflections as we see in the Indigo test.
Heres the file in case anyone wants to play.
