• Frame Start animation option: You can now render individual frames or ranges of frames, e.g.: 5, 100-110, 200, 352.
• Pack all V-Ray Materials: Archive your V-Ray for SketchUp materials and all external files into a single ZIP for easy sharing and back up.
• Improved support for using V-Ray Frame Buffer Channels
• Improvements and fixes to the Batch Render tool
• New and improved product documentation
I like that V-Ray Express and it works nice to get quick access to the materials. But for the V-Ray Components… they are all Sketchup 2014 files and Sketchup 2013 doesn’t see any components if you’re looking for them in the component panel of Sketchup 2013.
I’ve opened a new thread about this SP2 about some color mapping issues but since there’s more people visiting this thread I’ll post it here as wel. What happens is when I tick correct LDR and correct RGB in the color mapping rollout, using the default settings, I get a very bright image and wrongly gamma corrected.I want to know if someone is experiencing the same issue. I’m not sure if it’s a bug, or a problem in my machines or even if it’s a normal thing and there will be a different setup. I’ve been using the beta’s and it seems that this thing happened after they changed how environment calculation is made.
It’s been a while I’ve been trying some answers about this…Any expert or the guys from chaos group to answer?
Edit - same issue as others with older version of sketchup.
A workaround is to just download the free version of Sketchup Make, and save all the components to the relevant version - seems to work for me with 2013.
Thanks, I’ll try that. Bit sad they deliver 2014 components with a 2013 download of V-Ray for Sketchup. If it works I’ll put the files at my server as download for others.
The materials and components are just inside your normal material/components panel within Sketchup 2013. Took me also a while to figure this out, lack of documentation
I created a zip file for the V-Ray Express components and made them also compatible with Sketchup 2013. No time to test them yet but at least they appear in SU 2013.
