Chaos Notification Center integration

  • Chaos Notification Center, a new channel for in-product announcements, is implemented. Launch it from the Help menu, toolbar, or Asset Editor

Node Editor improvements

  • Rendered thumbnail preview for nodes is implemented and enabled by default
  • The way nodes duplication is handled is improved
  • In-between texture creation workflow is implemented. Right-click a connection to create an in-between node, or drag and drop a node onto a connection to insert it into the shader
  • Added support for the Displacement material attribute
  • Added a rectangular backdrop behind the Node Editor main menu to improve visibility over complex graphs
  • Implemented Full and Compact thumbnail modes. Double-click a thumbnail to toggle between them
  • Fixed an issue where deleting a connection to a collapsed material could remove all other connections to the same material
  • Viewport Display options of materials can now be configured in the Node Editor

Other improvements

  • License check is dropped for Cosmos Scanned Materials. Editing options are always visible once the material is imported
  • The Export button in the Export V-Ray Scene window is now grayed out during rendering
  • The UI state of Light Gen is now preserved when switching between the Classic and Mood Match tabs
  • The legacy Dark theme is removed from the UI Color Theme configuration
  • Repositioned the info icon in the Displacement material rollout and improved its tooltip
  • The Repeat U/V values of the 2D texture placement are now locked by default
  • The value range limits for the Scatter transforms (Translate, Rotate, Scale) are updated
  • Optimized Chaos Cosmos browser load time
  • An issue with how VFB history images are loaded into Veras is resolved
  • Fixed an issue causing Quick Caustics to disappear if a Material ID (or any other) attribute is added to the water material
  • Fixed an issue where the Log window failed to display events

  • Optimized scene activation, especially in heavy projects
  • Added support for Cosmos materials with Displacement (coming soon to Cosmos)
  • The Envision icon is removed from the Live Link toolbar
