Vantage reloads scene when I'm trying to render animation with live link.

Hey guys,

I’m running into a pretty frustrating issue with Chaos Vantage and Live Link when trying to render an animation.

I have the whole scene set up in Vantage, including the camera/post-processing settings. However, when I click Render Animation with Vantage from 3ds Max, Vantage reloads the entire scene. Because of that, all my Vantage adjustments are lost, and I’m no longer able to continue with the setup I prepared.

I tried loading the Vantage scene/config again, but then I lose access to the render animation settings. To get those settings back, I have to click Render Animation with Vantage again from 3ds Max, which reloads the scene again and resets the whole Vantage setup.

So I’m stuck in a loop:

  1. Set up the scene in Vantage
  2. Click Render Animation with Vantage
  3. Scene reloads and Vantage setup is lost
  4. Load config/scene again
  5. Animation render settings are gone
  6. Click Render Animation with Vantage again
  7. Scene reloads again

Is there a way to prevent Vantage from reloading the scene every time I start the animation render?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Hi micha_baurycza,

The issue is on V-Ray for 3ds Max side with DR2 builds. As a workaround for the time you can download DR1 builds that doesn’t have this issue from the stable nightly builds https://build-manager.chaos.com/builds/stable?page=1&page-size=10&by=created-at&order=desc&product=V-Ray%2C3ds+Max.
