There was a dedicated Fog Material on Corona 15 Trello that was really needed but never implemented, and now I don’t even see it on Corona 16 Trello. What happened?
Hi, please see this post and the responses to it:
Misunderstood the question, post deleted.
Huh? Sorry, I don’t understand your message.
Nevermind, I posted something after misunderstanding the original post and deleted my post right after. Sorry for the confusion.
Well that sucks, we really needed a dedicated Fog Material. I guess the Ideas portal isn’t working still from what I see, how would I request this feature?
The official channel for feature/improvement requests is now the forum Requests category - https://forums.chaos.com/t/updates-to-the-ideas-and-feature-request-process-for-corona-for-3ds-max/187865
Thank you Maru for the link.
I have to say this damn Forum has because way to hard to navigate. The old Corona forums was such a great community, now I barely visit like others.

Hi,
“Fog” can be the new volume effect in Sky map or a faster CoronaVolumeMtl.
New improved volume effect (fog, aerial perspective) is already available in Corona 16 preview.
As for faster VolumeMtl, that needs separate consideration - maybe optimizations (like sparse volume) to existing material or a new environment effect like in VRay.

What we need is a way to control the fog height.
Ok. But at least with “Fog” you refer to aerial perspective, right?
I think a height based opacity control for it makes perfect sense, I have suggested such thing earlier.
Do you think of it as simple gradient, or you want some custom map based? The latter, I believe, will be hard/impossible to implement in aerial perspective and it is better to use the dedicated VolumeMtl.
