      Hehe,

this is not even a fraction of a fraction of what aura is. I can not add motion of any kind to the voxels. No simulation etc. And I am using a regular Grid. And no viewport preview.

Can anybody remember one of the first Vray SDKs where the vray plane was still implemented as an atmospheric effect? I have lost this old SDK and want to have a look at it. Does anybody have this at hand?

      Best Regards,
      Dieter

          Thanks jacksc02,

Vlado already sent me the relevant code by now. I am already deep in code...

Is this dead, (he asks 4 years later)?

Is there a similar plugin anywhere that does voxel/raymarch stuff?

Phoenix does for voxeldata, and BerconMetaballs for particles i guess

I would love to see this again... ...maybe as part of the next build of vray... ...new feature... ...nudge nudge wink wink... ...vlado.

There is the Bercon Metaballs plugin, which for the moment works fine. The next major version of V-Ray will also include a metaballs object built-in (the same one that we already have in Maya).

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado

If it can replicate VrayIso's functionality I need to buy you a case of beer at siggraph! And yes you can hold me to that.

                            Thanks

The big hope is that it has a marching cubes proxy representation in the view port like VrayIso. That workflow was awesome.
