    Shadow/Highlights

These already have the PS Shadow/Highlights applied. They look good on my screen. I'll check them on a couple more monitors and plot them to see if I need more. Thanks.

See for me the darks are too dark. Like those little shrubs are basically black.

Just needs a little more tweak, maybe with curves.

Ouch! on my Dell LCD with a gamma of 2.2 it is also way to dark. I guess I have to work at 2.2. When I apply a Shadow/Highlight of around 25 it brightens it right up.

You just need to be a little carefull with shadow/highlight. I find using it too much on a scene can tend to flatten it out.

Hence my usual preference to do as much of it with curves as possible. As I think it gives a better result.

See thats too bright and abit washed out.

In my previous post I wasnt suggesting an s-curve as such, just the use of the curves instead of shadow/highlight.

You sort of want somewhere inbetween your dark image and the bright image.

                  gamma

This gamma thing is frustrating. I un-installed my spyder pro, which I think screwed things up. The first image looks great so I am just guessing to make it correct.

Sometimes i think you just have to draw the line when following other peoples methods. In this case, i think you would be better just judging what looks good in terms of brightness on your own opinion.

I agree that the brightness should be somewhere in the middle between the S-curved ones and the previous darker ones. I also think that some of the edits other people have done are way too saturated with too much contrast - but it comes down to personal preference a bit so i think just try to be more confident in your own judement and it will help the images.

For me the problem is the materials and colours that are the issue. Much of the work is really well done, but i think if you can limit the colour pallete a bit more to no more than 3-4 main materials then the project would look a little bit tidier and this will also make it easier for you to make the lighting look "good". Eg.. your white images (1 material) are the best images of this job. In terms of the design i think it also looks like something that was build from scrap materials in 1901...hope that isnt too offensive!

With regards to folio...maybe try some simple modern work. quick to texture and model and relies on lighting to look good..this stuff can be the most impressive and take the least time. Thats what id do if i had time anyway.

totally agree with other people. Your work is good enough on its own and you have a nice style

Bobby maybe you are looking at that scene for too long and not appreciating how how much better it looks now compared to the original post. Just a little bit of work on road texture and curb and you're done, Also, try a different bush(es) beside some of the garages to take away the uniformity of thre image.

Well aside from everyone differring opinions Bobby there appears to be some mesh/displacement/mapping problems on your roofs you can see by the light triangles in uniform all over it.

                          Materials

I am not sure what is causing that roof material to act like that. Overall I like the roof. Nothing a little PS can't cover. it is funny.... the client was extremely please with the first image. She sent me the check overnight.... I was the one who insisted it wasn't done. I'll probably revisit this one when I am slow. Thanks for all the help.
