About as average as you can get. What can I do to make this look better? I thing I like the lighting and v-ray settings, but it looks to much like a cheaper render engine like Accurender.

Am far from the right person to give any advice but the image seems very dark. Could you beef up the general ambient light or increase the intensity of you light sources (or add invisible lights to the scene?)
I suppose this has partly to do with the generally dark materials in the scene. Is the ceiling supposed to be black-ish? Maby slightly brighter materials would get the light bouncing around the space a bit more?

I will try that. I am having the hardest time with those can lights. I tried everything and I just can't get enough light out of them.Bobby Parker

Hi Glorybound, yep no problem.
Take material already created for the carpet
Select VRAY override material from the material map browser
Keep old material as sub
In Gi Material, create a light grey material.
This will still give you the carpet as it is but it will reflect GI as a much lighter material.

Those cans seem pretty small for the space. Yeah.. directional spots would help; usually it doesn't have to be lit correctly, just as long as it looks correctly lit. Do those sconces throw any light into the scene?
Also.. that stair and railing...
