            it's all in the reflection mapping. follow this post from the beginning and it should answer your questions.

              another question...where should I put the rosette.jpeg map (for reflection)?..in the vray-options-environment-Background or in the material editor-diamond-maps-background??

                In the material put it in the Maps panel under Refraction. You're better off finding a nice photo of a diamond more so than using the rossette hdr. You can probably google image search and try to locate a nice large shot of a colorful diamond face on.

                You can also experiment with placing a secondary map on the Refraction map channel in your refraction layer. Results will be hit and miss with that, the lighter the better for that channel.

                    No direct lights, its all just HDRI based from the scene.

                        you can use any hdri map, thats up to you. i like high contrast blacks and whites myself.
