Thanks Nomer, I actually only used QMC on the gold images from before. And I used the translucent materials for the first couple that have the waxy looks but just refraction layers for the other ones
Thanks guys. Yeah nomer, i was just playing around with it making a random shape that could possible look cool rendered by giving me enough movement and variation in the model. And the lights bulbs were an import, but i did create the wires all over the place...that was kind of a pain.
Awesome Nomer...How did u get the writing on the gold part of the pen clip? That is very subtle but very impressive. But for the wires in mine, I just used the follow me tool.
for letters to be projected on the surface, model the letter using 3d text.
position the text, be sure its attach (sinking) on the surface, then use intersect with model. choose the 3d text and delete it.
I like the idea of the pens but I think this is an to low polly model for a close-up render. maybe it is possible to give it more detail, to get a more realistic feel.

testing how to match hdri environment with actual render. rotating hdri images, rescaling and figuring how to have some sharp hdri background.
the object was modelled using vray sphere and added an free form deformation distortion.
use the noisy material.

nomeradona,
very nice work. i have a few questions:
for GI did you used the HDRI as well or is it a sun?
where did you got this hdr image?
Nomer, if this it's one of my hdri, be shore that you map it as spherical. I know I shared just spherical maps, since I have this kind of maps in hi res. version.
