I would lower the reflection and glosiness of the walls a bit. What are your settings?

Nothing special about my wall and my VRay settings are default 3.30.03

Yes, for a lower resolution, noisy image, 5 hours is a joke.

Love the kitchen shot! How does the render time compare to your previous job settings? As in, are the new default settings any better/faster than your previous settings on past jobs? I would personally reduce the brightness of the pendants over the island so you can see more of their shape. I usually resort to a self-illumination material with a fall-off for the light output so you can see the contours of the surface better. That's probably cheating though.

I don't recall the previous render times, but this time it is ridiculously high.

when I use reflections on the walls I apply vrayoverride material... with I simplified version of the base material for reflection.(without bump) ..... it works great if you have corners and produce a lot less noise
                  show me the money!!

                      in the override reflection slot?

yes, the material is a diffuse color without reflection of course and bump.... so when they reflect themselves only pick the flat diffuse color
                        show me the money!!

gotcha. I'm rendering out the living room, using IRR + LC, the pre-calc was 3 hrs and the render is saying 2hrs. Somethings isn't right. Are people turning off reflections and saving their IRR and LC?

9 hours and far from clean. I used all defaults with IRR + LC.

Not that it matters, but a slight color correction and I cleaned up that mess above the right set of windows.
