        I have been really patient with this developer, because he does a ton of these. This one, 4 million. I saw one, on his website, for 12 million. He actually emailed me all day Christmas and actually asked me to call him, which I didn't. I'm being patient, because I want to do more of these huge houses; it could be a niche.

          yeah people with that kind of money expect you to be there 24/7

          on a side note one thing that bothers me is the curtains, any curtain should have some translucency in it, even if thick. I think they look and feel a bit hard as if made of something other then fabric.

            I'll put it on the list of tweaks if I have to render it again. Also, the floor doesn't look glossy enough. This one took over 13 hours to render, so until I can figure out why, I am going to avoid rendering it again. Maybe, too much AO. I set it to .4, however, still too much. I am rendering the kitchen now and I set it to .2.

              Okay, I tried this again. I found out that I need to hit return at the end of the last line. I found about a dozen materials under .6 and 2 were set to 0. Now, how can I change all the ones lower then .6 to ,6? I went one-by-one, however, it would be great to just run a script that'll do it for me.

                Ridiculously crazy. I went from 100's of estimated hours (13 actual hours) down to 10 estimated hours. I don't know what the actual hours will be, but the estimated is promising. Now, how do I get the VMC script developer to add something to detect and change all glossy reflection that are under .6 to .6? That, would be sweet.

                    Try this:
                    Code:
                    vrmArr = getClassInstances vrayMtl
                    for m1 in vrmArr do
                        (
                            if m1.reflection_glossiness < 0.6 then m1.reflection_glossiness = 0.6
                        )
                    It will check all materials including subobject for glossies less than 0.6, and then set it to 0.6. You won't get feedback but it's almost instant. Of course, there's no guarantee that it will make your scene render any faster, but it should be less noisy if there were any glossies with less than 0.6

                    Also, there's no rule that says you can't have glossies less than 0.6, I just chose that number because in what I do, seldom I use materials with less than 0.6
                    Kind Regards,
                    Morne

                      I will, thanks. I have to wait. 13 hrs in and it is only 2/3 done.

                        Hey bobby,
                        thanks for the file, I finally had 5 minutes to send the render off
                        I have quite a few missing files, and I think most of them are trees, so the BG isn't really present.

                        Here it is :
                        https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...bby_Living.jpg

                        It seems noisy but I think it's actually the bump on the walls that gives that impression.
                        This rendered for 50 minutes (as I forgot about it) but it was clean earlier.

                        Obviously the scene has not been build from the ground up for GPU so quite some features are missing but hopefully will get there.
                        If you provide the missing assets I can send again, might give another look.

                        Maybe by lowering down the bump on the wall it will already look completely different.

                        I'll send off the kitchen now see how it looks.

                        Edit :
                        here is the kitchen :
                        https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/368267/kitchen.jpg
                        Only 17 minutes in total where 2-3 was loading and lightcache so the GPU haven't been long on (~15 min)

                        Stan

                          What kind of monster graphic card/s do you have? I have the GeForce GTX 970 and I got a memory error within minutes. For some reason the bump map got exaggerated on yours. Thanks for looking into this.

                                Well if you don't use subpixel mapping and also use brute force for primary you will get this kind of render time. What were your settings?
