The trees are bitmaps, as for the shadows in the foreground I only added a little blur to the opacity bitmap of the tree behind the camera, that way I dont have to use area shadows wich make the render much slower.

      The settings are simple.

        thank you very much bpozas
but what about your lights settings?
how many lights did you use in thie scene ,and what are their "shadow" settings ? (Vray shadow for a target direct maybe ?)
        thanks in advance,
        and take care

                that i an amazing image!!!!

i am curious however about your lighting setup... ive tried this and well my image becomes blown out. I was wondering why some peoples lighting setups work fine for some images then if u dupoicate the lighting setup in another image it always tendds to blow out any explanation?

I know only too well what you mean
but maybe a simpel explanation is
that the GI (receive and generate) settings for objects have been modified from the default 1.0 settings??????

thats what im starting to think, but it seems like such a backward step to have to manipulate each material individually....

I think if we use exponential setting in color mapping the overall bright would be controlable.
                      Do you agree?
