He recommended the 3950, which this is. Anything more is out of the ballpark in price. This one is $6000 and when I spec the same on BOXX, it is twice that.

        Hey glorybound

Unless you get a good deal on these Xeons, don't bother honestly
Threadripper is better in every way

-Don't use 120 MM AIO with this CPU, you need 280 or 360
There is Corsair H150I and NZXT kraken X73

-Use this case, Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL or Lian Li 011 Air
There is also Be Quiet Dark Base Pro 900,

You will need to buy 9 fans for the first 2 cases, they come with no fans..

-For Memory look for 3200 MHz @ CL14 .. I use Gskill TridentZ , There is also 3600 MHz at CL16 if you cannot find CL14
128 GB of memory are fine btw, unlike the case with the older 2990wx

-Motherboard, I don't get any ASrock boards around here.. I will recommend what I use for my builds
Zenith Extreme TRX40 or MSI Creator TRX40 or Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Extreme .. it is worth to invest in these honestly

-And if you can get your hand on a cheap Titan RTX now for under 2k Euros, it would be great. So that you can use 2 with NVlink
Otherwise get a 3090 (if you can find it)

This is a recent build with the 3990x, and more or less the same memory/board/cooling

The only legit way of getting one, is through boutique builders like Maingear. I mean if you are not building the machine on your own, check them out Bobby
They are not as expensive as Boxx or Dell, and their cases/cooling is pretty good!

I punched in numbers around the web and I am not getting anything under $10,000 and the most expensive was $18,000, all about the same specs. BOXX was the most expensive, DELL, and then down from there.

I customized. The 3990X with 128 Gb of RAM. The video cards sent it over the top. Two 3090's or one RTX 8000. Without the video cards, using my Titian RTX, I could save $5000

glorybound On Maingear, 8300 Euros for 5950X and Dual 3090s + NVLink
This includes their insane liquid cooling for the CPU and both GPUS (nearly 2k Euros alone)
This is what Maingear could do better than Boxx or anyone else..

You could also send them your card, and ask for another titan to save around 2200 Euros

yup, the normal score is around 64k or so, depending on your cooling
I get it over 80k playing with a few settings in bios, I overclocked all cores to 3.4 GHz(it is usually around 2.75 to 2.9 out of box)...
And I overclocked 4 cores on one CCX to 3.8 GHz (for single threaded performance)
I also turned off PBO, and used custom voltages.. it depends on the CPU and/or the board, I was stable at under one volte in this machine which is insane

Good memory will also help, this system has 3600 MHz at CL16 .. 128 GB
CL14 memory would even be better..

Get a 5950x, it's single threaded performance is much better than the 3950x apparently and it's 15% faster!

Muhammed_Hamed helped me with this build( Big thanks again! ), my machine started from 43K because of a bad memory choice I picked, but after moving to the suggested memory it went up to 68K ~ iirc then to around 80K after overclocking.
I moved from dual Xeon with a benchmark of around 15k to this after 4 years so it was a big step up for me .
