You would probabaly want to find some non-LED ones. Im not 100% how the manual control works, if its via the slot knob thingy that would suck, the one i used to have had a little twisty thiing that was attached to the fan so set and forget... thats basically what your after.
says: "designed to keep power consumption and noise level at their lowest. The Ultra Stealth-Power will automatically adjust its speed as the environment inside your case changes,"
Wonder if there is a way for the fans to run slow when the case is not hot, but when the temp goes up, the fan RPMs go up? is that kinda what that says above?
I don't have to order from tigerdirect, thats just one of the places that was suggested to me. I usually order from NewEgg, but now that I'm in California I have to pay sales tax, so I don't order from them anymore. Someone mentioned MWave, but I haven't checked them out yet.
THey seem about as effective as the thermaltake fans which do 21.5cfm at 17db. which would work out similar but the thermaltake fans then go much higher to really cool things down.
Yeah its saying that they will go slower depending on the temps inside your case. Thats kinda handy.
Every time I see a CPU, I'm always amazed at how simple they look. I mean, there aren't complex little dodads hanging off like a motherboard or videocard. Just a bunch of metal pins. Wonder whats going on inside there
the one that came with the processor in the "PIB" package. ("Processor In a Box" or whatever they call it). It's huge! lol! Looks like it has some sort of copper tubing, not really sure what that does, I guess it just transfers heat to the outside fins?
I was kinda dissapointed that there was no thermal paste/grease included, I expected that a processor that includes a fan & heatsink would also include the thermal paste/grease... but it didn't. So go out and get some right now if you were expecting the same thing
So thats a stock AMD one...cool.
The tubing is called a heatpipe, and yes it transfers the heat better into the fins.
You should get Artic Silver 5, its the best thermal compound that you can get. But you only need very small drop cause it spreads out lots. Check the instructions on their site.

thats strange i got the same kit as you and mine had paste already on the heatsink ...

Hm... I haven't taken off the plastic cover yet (still no mobo to put it on just yet). It might have some, who knows. In any case, I have a tube of grease on the way. aah well, it wasn't expensive
DaForce: that looks like some sort of futuristic office building! haha!
