  • You should be able to scratch a little corner off if it's thermal paste...

As for Daforce's heatsink - are you sure your tower will stand upright? Holy smokes that's gargantuan. I've never seen anything like it! Good luck fitting that one in. A 15mm fan too??? Should be nice and quiet.

    • yeah as for thermal grease/pads go, only use one or the other, never both. And when using thermal grease make sure to follow the instructions. Too much is a BAD thing, with artic silver you only need a drop the size of a piece of rice!! and it spreads out when you put the heatsink on.

Yeah it works fine and has been for a month now
Its mighty impressive i'll tell you that heheheh
92mm fan to be exact... and its only running at 920rpm because the heatsink is so effective.

            • awesome! Feels great to finally get everything together! Were those the last parts you were waiting for?

just found out my motherboard hasn't even shipped yet. sheesh, the item was is in stock. This was my first time ordering form TigerDirect, and it will be my last. It takes them 4-5 days after I order the item just for them to get it to UPS to be shipped. NewEgg always had it out the door by the end of the same day. Tiger give me incorrect tracking numbers and they put the wrong address on one of the packages. I think I'm getting a sign or something

Idonno if dodge is the right word, but I agree something isn't right. I was avoiding NewEgg because I have to pay tax on anything coming from California, but I guess in this case it would be worth the little extra to go with a top-notch dealer. I do the same thing for camera equipment, I always order from B&H Photo, even though they don't always have the lowest prices. Eh, live and learn I guess

How much ram did you get?

                  • ahh yeah thats right... i knew there was something about newegg that caused you to avoid it. Do you have to pay alot extra or is it only like $10-$20?

I got 2gb to start with, see how that goes for awhile.

If I would have ordered everything from Newegg, I think it would have been around $100+ for tax. Eh, I saved a little money, but went through a bit of trouble. I'm going to try MWave next, a friend recommended them, and they seem to have great prices, not sure how their shipping department is though, NewEgg seems to have a great shipping department and I have been spoiled by them.

I may over clock mine just a bit to see if it really makes any difference, I won't be testing the limits though, I'll leave that to yall

                          • I have had some kind of fullfillment/billing/shipping problem with every one of the orders I have sent through NewEgg... and I've sent quite a few, and I'm local to them.

I also have had problems with the 2-3 orders I've done through MWave (again, i'm pretty local to them). While they both have good prices, and good shipping rates, their inventory fluctuates way too much, trying to buy 6 of something can often be impossible.

Wow, I have never had any problems with NewEgg, guess they aren't perfect either

Have you found a better place? What would you suggest? Sounds like you order more often than I do.
