I dont really need anything that big, but like you say you can never have enough power!

Yeah having too much power is better than too little!!!
Also gives you room to expand, without hitting the limits of your powersupply.

I'll have 4 harddrives, two CD/DVD drives, Quadro 1400, and 2 sticks of ram (4 sticks later on).

I have an Antec 380 right now in my machine, I suppose I should probably get something with more wattage, I'll go for that Antec 550 Truepower then Thanks!

Yeah 380w would probabaly be enough.
But I would recommend upgrading to the 550w just to be safe, the new TruePowers are great, they have 2 independant 12v rails, each with like 19A. And they are so quiet.

At the moment I am using my friends more generic powersupply, and it only has 18A on the 12v (whereas my antec has 30A) and as of yesterday my machine wont run stabily with everything plugged in cause as soon as the cdrom spins up a HDD powers down.. LOL. So until i swap back to my Antec I have unplugged my 2 burners.
The reason why im using his is that my Antec had a 20pin plug and the mobo has a 24pin, and at the time i didnt know you could just plug the 20pin into a 24pin anyway.

What shits me the most is that i was the first person on the forums to post about getting an x2....and now because of low stock in Australia, it appears as if everyone else will have gotten theirs before me.

But I cant help but to think that i helped with the surge of X2 purchases across the globe from the people in the forum

my good old p4 3.4ghz is still enough for me but you make me want to buy new hardware, and those 7800gtx seems HOT... but i need a laptop... I don't know, those boxx technology laptops are HOOOOT but so $$$$, have to wait to decide mmmm, have fun receivingyour athlon x2 and tell us how it runs

You can get latops with 6800's in them, they are somewhat toned down but still plenty of power for a laptop!!!
Well with any luck i will have it next week, but given my previous luck it could be a couple of weeks.. LOL damnit
