ahhh hmm with artic silver it would be even cooler..but ahh well too late..actually the stuff that came with it isnt toooo bad.
You should have your fan speed being controlled by your motherboard, does it have one of those 3 pin leads?
Cause mine is running at a very low speed and still keeping great temps. I imagine if it were going full tilt my temps wouldbe alot lower, but the fan would be alot louder.
Then again you should just get the same fan as me

            jow:
            hehehe its early here
Just be careful with the updates make sure you read how to do it. Usualy you need to put it onto a bootable floppy disk and start the computer off it and flash it that way.
Yeah its a wicked heatsink...and big as well.

I didn't get any fancy case with windows or anything, just a basic black case. I did make sure that it had some sort of port to let fresh air in on the side though. I got the "Ultra Wizard BLack ATX Mid-Tower".

I didn't until to day realize that it's a "mid tower", will I have problems fitting my motherboard in there? I'm not sure exactly what "mid sized" means. If it doesn't fit, then I guess I'll send it back and get another case. My mobo is a DFI LP UT NF4 Ultra-D, I believe I saw "ATX" somewhere in there when I ordered my mobo, but I can't be for sure.

                            • hmmm that case looks ok i guess.
I major problem tho. You are going to have ZERO air flow, as it doesnt come with any fans at all !!!
No airflow equals bad news. You need to buy some good 80mm fans to go at the back and side i assume
Ideally you would have wanted to get a case withaa better airflow system setup.
Also I think with the length of your video card (it looks long) you may have a tightish fit.

With the amount of money you are putting in to the system i would have opted for a better case, everything else is topnotch the case should also be pretty good. Other wise you could very well get heat problems. Infact you definitly will unless you atleast get some fans in that suckah

                              • word to that.

well 3 days into my new x2 beast and everything is sweet.
Slightly slow than my dual xeon 3.4, but at 1/3 of the price i'm not complaining

Buck- are you getting win xp 64bit?
