  • Thanks Svetlin!

Based on my Balls scenes, I added the Ship.
I made 3 simulations over night, and here is the one that looks best. I'm simming again with some different settings.
Changed SPF from 2 to 4, changed quality from 30 to 50 and added 0.1 surface tension hoping to get less "holes" in the water at bow.

Please let me know if you have some other comments.

    • Huh, is the hull a single solid object? Looks like the liquid at the bow penetrates it a bit and then comes back out. Also, how many voxels do you have in the grid?

yes, object is perfectly closed (maybe too low polygon?). I have 18 million cells in the grid.

This is seen from the inside looking at bow. It penetrates a little.

        • Hi,

Should I raise the splash drag? it seems the splash particles are floating in the air...

          • I had to remove the splash drag obviously.
            Looks quite nice here

              • Now this starts to look sweet.
I need to keep alive the foam a little longer.

                • Niiiice Are these foam or splash particles flying from the wave crests?

                    • Resim seems to create foam on Grid borders (frame 27 here). Let's see what happens around frame 100 or later...

                      • Hi,

We are aware of the this resimulation issue and working on the fix for it. Will post here when we have any updates.

                        • too bad for the resimulation... I'm looking forward to test an update.

here is a new simulation. Less cells, but bigger Half Life. It's getting interesting.

                            • What I really miss in phx flip core, is that I failed to produce that kind of rolling water over the water effect, that is easily achievable in f.e. naiad, houdini or even bifrost. If someone can prove me wrong - that would be really great.

I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

                              • I know what you mean, did seem to get that effect with a lot lower resolution with Naiad but I'm sure it can be achieved with Phoenix. It is more the rolling of the foam/splash over the surface I suspect. Shall give it a try soon!
