Rather impressed with Ivaylo Katev's Ship in Ocean simulation. Am I correct in understanding that achieving similar results cannot be done with the current public Phoenix FD demo v2.10.10?
yes, this is made by nightly build. if you try to simulate it with the official 2.11 the splash/foam will have worse behavior.
if you need similar simulation, you can ask for nightly build access, the ship scene is included in the samples.
Ivaylo, would it be possible for you to post the settings you used for your "ship in ocean" simulation (screenhots or whatever)? I know the scene is included in the PhoenixFD for Max, but for us Maya users it's not really useful
of course
the scene scale is 20 cm
there are a box placed between the propelers, it is made to be a source directed backward, to produce the effect of the water pushed by the propelers.
the ship speed is 50 km/h
what is the difference between symmetric and smooth, because I was wondering also what I should use ? I know you used symmetric in your boat example...
I think these things should be point out more efficiently, cause now users just dont know when and why to change any default parameters and features.
I mean there could be many different small examples with gif sequence to explain in documentation what each features do and why. I hope you get my point.
