      Re: Tricks/Tutorial Requests Here

      Hi everyone

I'm not new in the forum, but I haven't posted since... uuff... can't remember xD

Well, I'm really interested in a IES lights tutorial. For example: if I want to put a lamp from a Sylvania catalog (just an example) in one of my models, can I simulate the IES curve of that lamp using VRSU?

I have to say, I don't know anything about IES lights in rendering xD hehehe that's why I need some tutorial mostly in that direction.

Any help will be appreciate it! ;D

        Re: Tricks/Tutorial Requests Here

Here's your IES light tutorial...Coming Soon...they aren't supported is SU yet. In general though IES light are supposed to take the guessing out of lights. If you retrieve the IES light files from the manufacturer, then it will have all of the intensity and distribution information and you shouldn't have to modify anything.

Photometric lighting units are a whole other can of worms and I'm pretty sure you need a PhD in physics to get that one.

So, if I get the IES light file from the manufacturer, can I load it in Vray?

Well... reading again your answer... I guess I can't... xD but anyway, what I need then is a IES light tutorial, to do something similar to this:

          (The render is from Gach06)

(The render is from Amir Sanyoto)

Thanks for answering dalomar, hope you can help me with my request ;D

          Regards!

              1. Spot lights aren't directly supported, so you will need to place a omni light inside a tube or recess or something to get a cone affect.

I have problems many times with these settings and I can't get good effects ( the light its too sharp and linear)

I would like to know.... if there are any advanced material tutorials.... all the tutorials about materials I found cover the basic settings....... what I like to learn how to use dirtmaps, when and why use 2 reflection layers and stuff like that..... also making the right textures / bump / displacement maps.

                            Re: Tricks/Tutorial Requests Here

I was wondering how to get a V-ray material preview to show up in the sketchup window. Instead of the V-Ray grey?

Furthermore, how would i then adjust the material on the surface. I dont see an option to adjust V-ray materials directly on the faces.

                            Thanks!

                                Hi guys,

I would like a bit of help with creating the bright white effect that i've seen in a few of your renders for windows. I only really need to do interior renders so i'd like to learn how to do the bright white effect for the windows?

                                Jam ;D
