Smooth purchase, got the license quickly, got the grass up and running in seconds, rendered in about 3min... I love it

Kinda Sorta Maybe. Apologies for the godawful render.

I tried using GradientEdge to make it scale down towards the edges of the carpet but it slowed to a crawl for some reason.

                  Hi all,

I am feeling a little bit confused...I have bought the plug in and i have installed it, exactly as it is described in the PDF. For some reason there is a strange notification - i am posting a screen shot. Does anybody know where could be the problem?

                  I am with 3ds max Design 2010, V-ray SP3a and Windows Vista x64.

                  Many thanks in advance.
Sorry if i have posted in the wrong section.

                  Best regards

Looks good, but I think prerendering a giant textures for the carpet with Autograss and mapping that to the floor would almost get the same effect but a lot faster. Only the edges are not that realistic then. Making modeled patches (1 sqr meter), proxying them and randomizing them works faster too and may be more realistic since you don't have "hairs" but more "solid" posibilities.

                    • Dear Friends,

The problem with my license is that i have downloaded the program from my home PC and i want to install it only at my Office PC.
My Home PC has one ID for which was created a license yesterday evening as i have downloaded the files.
My Office PC has another ID of course. Can I make something so i can run the program only on my office PC?
Is there a opportunity to solve this problem?

What will happen if i have to format my PC later???

                      With best regards

Contact the developer, I am sure he'll help you out. Their response time in quick.

Pricing schemes like that are just a matter of getting more money in a sneaky way, there is no other reason than just that. And I am quite sure a lot of people will not pay the extra $495 on top of a single license. There is no reason why a single workstation artist should pay less than a 20 workstations "single" artist cause the development of the plugin is identical for both artists.

I never liked the attitude of price structures like that at all

The concept of unlimited rendernodes is actually very rare in the VFX world. You have to pay for every license of Maya on the farm. MR is technically limited to 5 licenses per copy of Maya. Renderman is $2500 per rendernode, $4000 per user license. Even Vray for Maya is limited to standalone licenses per user license.

...yes, and that's why we will never work with software that charges per rendernode
