Are Educational users of VRAY Advanced not allowed access to the 1.5 beta?

We are really in need of an upgrade here, we are still on 1.09n!!!!

We too have emailed Chaos for any updates to no avail.

It is understandable that they are busy but HELP please!

Motion blur in VRay1.45.70 is MonteCarlo or Analytic?
The blur seems MonteCarlo method, Analytic method is no longer supported?

Analytic is gone, there were too many problems with that method. MC is faster now though.

I finally got my license and now I'm having the exact same problem as Vince was having further up the thread. My highschool french is a bit rusty
so does anybody know how to resolve this problem.

I sent and email to Chaos but sinces its late on Friday night in the US I don't expect and answer soon.

                    some specs.

                    xp pro
                    no firewall
tried all entries for server location... local host, 127.0.0.1, real ip address,
                    real computer name.

                    thanks,

                    V Miller

Vance, what is your Windows version? Do you have ZoneAlarm or any anti-virus software that might be stopping the license client and server to communicate properly?

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado

vance3d : It was my pamda antivirus software. The only solution is the uninstall on my panda and VRay is ok.

                          vlado and vince,

the only antivirus stuff I have installed is Mcaffee Antivirus. I tried shutting it off and going through the license process but it did not work. Can I just shut this off or do I have to shut it down completely and reboot without it running?

I've finally got vray beta running! It was only after uninstalling my virus software completely that the license manager would maintain a connection. Just shutting down virus services was not enough.

Have other people had the same experience? I mean I'm glad vray is working but now my system has no virus protection. Are there virus protection softwares that don't cause this problem? I was running mcaffee antivirus.

I'm running Norman, which works fine except for the problem with the mentalray.dlz not initializing when you start max (only a problem if you actually use mentalray I guess)

Norton seemed to have no problems but it makes my system slow.

it's alway sa good idea to have a firewall programme installed....it'll tell you whats trying to talk to what
