So I am in the same situation as Sunnyc1 where I have a license server running with Max and VRay. We only had 1 license of VRay advanced and just recently upgraded to 3 licenses...
How do I upgrade my current license server to have a 3 multi-license setup? Do I need to request an auth code that allows for more than one license? Any help would be EXTREMELY helpful!!!
Actually, I have had a request in to consolidate our licenses for a few days. I have not had a response from Tedi or anyone else for that matter.
I was wondering if I had made an incomplete request. For instance not having an authorization code. But we were already given a license for a single seat. I assume there is no other auth code needed.
@Donald2B: Were you granted a new license file?
Does anyone actually have the floating license system working for consolidated licenses for version 1.45.70?
@Corey: Yeah, I got an auth code back from Tedi very quickly. I also ran into another problem with the licensing system though. I had upgraded all of my workstations with a newer beta version and forgot to update the license server...so my code didn't work properly. Tedi got me straightened out and things are working better than ever!!
Im in desperate need for a good displacement renderere but what i have yet seen is rather dissapointing.
It maybe works for simple roofs, walls or meshsmoothed objects of some kind but i always find something that will not work or gives me strange results (disturbed geometry).
Thats not only true for V-Ray, finalRender is also not able to render clean results in any cases.
I will not buy a renderer only to be frustrated when i get a halfdone feature.
If you are unable to get clean results with two different high-end rendering solutions that other people have great results with, odds are that it isn't the fault of the rendering engines...
