I thought I'd post this, seeing Vergefios rendering which misses some reflections or refractions. I am using .12 which had some bug fixes in vray material (splotches with GI caustics)

Nope. It's a 1.47.03 issue. The older build rendered incorrectly certain specific situations where refractive objects with the same material intersect each other, as is the case with this test scene. The version that vergefio has rendered correctly this case.
The same result of vergefio can be produced with 1.47.03 like this:
#1 Clone the Water material to a new empty slot ;
#2 Rename it... like Blue Water_2 ;
#3 Assign it on the pipe object ;
Now having 2 different objects (intersecting actually one another) but with 2 different materials (no matter they are absolutely 100% one and the same).
Wow Daniel. How much did those monsters set you back?
I've just checked with our IT dept. they're Supermicro AS 1020-T servers and they cost about £2800 each (5000 usd). Not really tried them on anything big yet.
