  • Dan, I'm pretty sure I changed the passes to 8 (I'll double check it). I guess I can't complain too much since this is about 8 times faster than my old system! I do wish I could figure out the slight slowdown. I am running XP 64 on a MAC using bootcamp, but that shouldn't make any difference - I am assuming that visumporec is doing the same.

Da_elf - I know what you mean, it is funny how fast you get spoiled with a new system

    • GregM: just push render and it's without DR.

Actually it only beats one q6600, the rest of them were between 2:20 and 2:10 at stock speeds. Heck my oc'd dual core is as fast as the phenom. Not to mention the Intels are cheaper too.

Heck, maybe in your country q6600 comes oc'd in stock

Anyhow, my "and now..." was not meant to be backed up with drums and fanfaras... only to point the "speed" of Phenom.

                              Cheers!

                              • Heh, that would be cool if our proc's were faster here then the rest of yours.

Anyways your 6600 is the only slow one, the 6600's you linked were running RC3 which is known to be slower than 1.50. Not trying to argue just pointing out that the phenom is not so phenomenal, IMO.

Looking forward to seeing what the phenom can be oc'd to.
